In my teaching strtegy,i prefer to to use a more practical approach so students can have as close to real life experience as possible. Teaching a language outside the cultural context in which it exista create impedance to effective communication as intended messages could be distorted through social and cultural filters. Additionally,in communication the bulk of an intended message is transmitted via non-verbal cues and the contexts in which convetsations occur. Consequently people find themselves frustrated most times when they feel they are not clearly understood even when they have used the right words in the right language. My teaching strategy is Interactive with reference to culture as language cannot be learned in isolation. I also do throw in a bit of coaching from my experience as a human resource professional, where I would help candidates have a clearer sense of direction as to what they intend to use their language skills for, where they intend to use them and how the intend to use them in the present and in the future. This we would achieve by setting learning goals and prioritising what is most important to the candidate. With my teaching strategy we could say that the client would not just learn the language in terms of words and meanings but would learn to live with the language in terms of how things are done, how things are said, the non verbal cues that go with them, and most importantly, how to apply these in day to day life survival in the uk.
