I have been a teacher for six years now and I am extremely passionate about supporting pupils with their GCSE in English Literature and English Language. I have a sound understanding of the exam boards, having been an examiner for both AQA and Edexcel. I have always wanted to become a teacher as I wanted to ignite a spark for English in my students. I have experience teaching the AQA syllabus and Edexcel syllabus and I have experience tutoring the AQA, Edexcel and OCR syllabus for both English Language and Literature. I have experience tutoring A level English Literature (Edexcel). I have a CELTA pass B qualification and a vast understanding of TESOL. My experience of tutoring and teaching EAL students is vast, both in the UK and as a volunteer abroad. I want the best for all my students and hope to provide them with a strong skillset to be able to tackle the exams, as well as giving them clear revision strategies to help them when studying independently. I love reading and like to use extracts from articles, novels, short stories that I have read- so students will be exposed to a range of texts in preparation for their English Language exam. Moreover, I want to keep lessons inspiring - so I love to take your interests into account when creating resources. I speak fluent Dutch and French and Turkish at intermediate levels.

I determine this through discussions before and during tutoring, practice questions and looking at their ability when it comes to the subject/approaching their GCSE exams. I cater to my pupils' needs; this might mean flexible lesson times, location, adapted and scaffolded resources and support in various areas of the curriculum. I have taught GCSE English Language for Edexcel, AQA and OCR. I have taught AQA and Edexcel English Literature. I am an examiner for AQA and Pearson Edexcel. This allows me to challenge students who are looking to pass their GCSE in English or aiming to reach high level grades. I have a BA(Hons) in Linguistics and a PGCert in Psychology of Language. My PGCE (education postgraduate degree) is in English with SEND. I have a CELTA qualification, so I am qualified to teach English to speakers of other languages - whether that be for the entry exam, to help with school or university courses or to adapt to life in the UK. I am able to teach online, from my home or in your home.
