I have been a private tutor for nearing on 10 years now, focusing on Maths, Physics and Chemistry at GCSE or higher (ages 13+). I use a combination of my own resources as well as those pooled over my time teaching, and structure the lessons according to what the student would like to get out of them, be that help with homework or preparation for an upcoming exam, or catching up on content not yet understood.

For younger ages or English language lessons the format is similar but broken up into smaller and slower chunks, often with breaks for videos or educational games, or just a mental rest/chat -- this is integral to my approach whoever I am working with, I won't force work or methods that aren't right for my tutee.
