As a qualified teacher with over six years of experience in primary education, my tutoring sessions are designed to be calm, engaging, and tailored to each child. I create a positive, nurturing environment where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow in confidence.
Each lesson is carefully structured to support progress while keeping learning enjoyable, meaningful, and suited to the child’s needs. I usually start with a short warm-up activity to ease the child into the session and activate prior knowledge. This might be a quick game, a recap of a previous topic, or something fun to get their brains switched on. The main part of the lesson focuses on a specific learning goal—this could be anything from improving reading fluency and comprehension to developing writing skills, understanding tricky grammar, or building confidence in maths.
I use a wide range of resources and strategies to match different learning styles, including visual aids, hands-on activities, games, and carefully chosen texts. I believe that learning should be interactive and enjoyable, and I always aim to keep sessions varied, purposeful, and interesting.
At the end of each lesson, we reflect on what has been learned, celebrate achievements, and look ahead to what’s next. I often provide simple follow-up activities or suggestions to help keep the momentum going between sessions.
Above all, I want every child I work with to feel supported, valued, and proud of their progress. I believe in building strong, trusting relationships that help children develop both their skills, confidence, and confidence.
