I have 5 years of experience in teaching English as a second language to adults. My speciality is exam preparation for Ielts and Oet. In my class I after the orientation of all four skills - Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking, I focus on skills required to solve particular type of question.
Let's consider Reading for example, the questions that tests easier skills like skimming and scanning are given first and tougher skill testing questions comes later in the exam paper. Therefore, if the candidate is proficient in solving initial questions, I just let him do it himself, whereas I focus on the difficult skills: gist questions and questions to infer the attitude and opinion of the writer.
For productive skills like Speaking and Writing, my lessons focus on functional language that is tested in the exam. These skills are assessed on the basis of set criterion. If candidate fulfill the criteria for the grade required, they are successful in the exam. However, it only depends on the continuous practice which I intend to provide in ample.
Practice material that I use in my class is from Cambridge University press test papers and OET ppp material. My students has always complimented my teaching as simple, as my aim is to make English learning simple, all thanks to the CELTA course where I learned the methodology of teaching English as a second language. Thank you and book a class to experience the same online and further your goals by passing your English proficiency exam.
