Art's tough, and there's no one "right" way to do it - In my opinion, the most important thing about art skills is being able to apply them to something you love!

When starting with me, the first lesson will be an opportunity to gauge where the student is at, and to hone in on where the student would like assistance. We'll use this information to figure out what they want to learn, and whether the student thinks it's right for them.

My lessons focus on first looking into a technique, figuring out how to learn it, and then applying said technique into a piece of art during the latter part of the lesson. It's important that I'm able to teach students both fundamentals and focused studies, so we can work a broad range of techniques into their skillsets.

I make sure that during each lesson we'll get to work on something the student personally enjoys, whether this be a passion project or just a particular technique or study. I think adding this part into lessons make them a lot more enjoyable overall, and really helps with motivation - I know it does for me when I'm studying!

I have a good amount of experience in working with teams of people, usually for making games throughout various game jams and events. The teams have usually been quite small in size. These have been mainly during my time at university, where I also got the opportunity to gain some work experience alongside Oddbug Studio on Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter. They've all been great experiences and being able to work as part of an art team is fun!
