When attempting to teach. The first stage would be to understand where the child is struggling on and working around that to make them more confident in that topic. Work with presentations, explaining them thoroughly. Also, giving short yet effective activities to work on during the hours to see whether they’ve understood it or need more work around it. Making sure students feel no pressure and acknowledge that they’re here to learn and not be intimidated. Often I’ll make activities fun and engage with them. I’ll give them some time to work on a few things and give them feedback. I’ve privately tutored before, some feedback from the students themselves say they love when I engage with them in activities. They feel heard and understood. They’re happier to return for the next session and feel as though I can explain things well to them. They passed their exams above their target and parents weren’t disappointed. It’s crucial to ensure the student has everything they need to succeed in their subjects.
