I have a Degree in Computer Science and Forensic Science and have experience in all aspects of computing, as a qualified technician, a software developer and website developer. My experience with the Raspberry Pi project has given me good programming skills, but more importantly the skills to relate and teach powerful skills in Python, Scratch and Sonic Pi to those around me. My level of knowledge means I can create and deliver materials confidently to children and adults alike. I can code in C#, python, Java and php as well as all web technologies, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
I’m an experienced C# Software Developer and have managed a project recently for a local business, meaning I have a broad range of skills including database design and UI creation. These level of skills mean I can accommodate all levels of education.
As well as my technical experience I have spent most of my work life in customer focused roles, learning to communicate effectively with anyone. I am confident with children, as an experienced parent and an educator and enjoy the challenges involved. Nine years of experience as a Barista has taught me to bring passion, enthusiasm, and warmth to any situation.
I take a very interactive approach to teaching, I like to first find where the student is, what their target is and then come up with a detailed plan. I enjoy talking and discussing the subject and offering a student the opportunity to engage in the subject in a way they will absorb.
