Kendra Lee

I have been a tutor in maths since secondary school and have worked with students from various countries and backgrounds back in Canada. Although, I do not have official experience with tutoring English, I am a native English speaker myself and have grown up in an English speaking environment as well as is currently pursuing my undergrad at a prestigious university in London, which I believe makes me qualified to teach English as a second language to students.

I like to operate my lessons by first going through English homework a student might have and any questions they have in regards to that. After, I like to introduce a book or some light reading we can go through together, in order to become more familiar with new and different vocabulary. The last bit of the session I usually like to have a casual conversation with my students so that they can learn the more conversational side of the language, how to use it in daily life and how it is different as opposed to written English.

I believe that learning should be enjoyable and not feel like a chore. I strive to create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students can freely express their thoughts and opinions. I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their language goals and feel confident and comfortable using English in real-life situations. I have a passion for language learning and I hope to spread my knowledge to different people all across the world!
