I have 15 years experience working with both primary and secondary students, face to face and online. I use a range of activities to keep students engaged such as Kahoot interactive quizzes, videos, powerpoint presentations. The sessions are led by you and what you need and what learning style best suits you, I will strive to adapt the sessions to your strengths and needs in order for you to reach you full potential. There will be teacher demonstrations, modelling but also the time for independent work and reflection.
I have worked with students who need curriculum support in English and maths, and also worked with students, who want to go to Grammar schools and want to pass their entrance exams, this has been online and face to face.
I'm currently working with secondary students, who need personalised bespoke interventions in order to help them to read, due to English being their additional language, or if they have learning difficulty that is a barrier to their learning.
I have also started working with children also, who are attending alternative provision providing nurture tutoring, to be a listening ear for them , but also building up self-esteem through emotional literacy work. I will also be supporting staff on ways to make improvements in Literacy across six alternative provisions centres on the Wirral. This is to provide the students with a support plan, to go back to school and be supported in their re-integration back into school in the hope that they succeed whilst back in school.
