My Teaching Philosophy
Create a warm, compassionate and safe environment for the student to learn in.
Work with the parents by listening to them and keeping them informed.
Always have high expectations regardless of needs and adversity.
Provide learning support so that your student can progress. For example, visual aids, scaffolding for writing, literacy support mats, video clips and displays.
Understand that different students require different types of learning styles e.g. some prefer to learn through "doing."
Get to know your student’s interests and use them as a vehicle for learning.
Ensure you know what your student needs to do in order to progress. Then share this information with the student and use it to inform your lesson planning.
Give quality feedback and reward! Give feedback (written and verbal) on their effort, achievement and what they need to do to progress. Furthermore, working towards rewards and treats always helps with motivation!
Have fun! Learning can be fun too!
