I have 12+ years experience teaching and tutoring in inner city London schools including 5 years as a head of department. I have marked for both Psychology and Sociology exam boards and have a wealth of experience in different specifications including AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and international specs.
My success comes from building a professional working relationship with the student where they feel comfortable communicating their needs, and not afraid to get answers wrong to seek improvement. Getting to know the student also means I can link course content to examples that really relate to them and hence will help their understanding.
I also work as an academic mentor, providing assistance with UCAS applications, work experience placements, revision skills, motivation, and organisation.
I would describe myself as; friendly, approachable, communicative, and flexible. Students have achieved A*-B grades regularly with my support having been working at a D/E grade when they start out with me.
Please get in touch for a discussion on how I can help, in the unlikely event that I cannot help myself, I have a wealth of connections to other people in the industry who I'm sure can do so.
I can provide excellent references on request.
