I'm keeling, and I love learning and teaching Math! I have a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D., in Applied Mathematics and have over twenty years of experience teaching at University and High School levels. I have taught a wide range of mathematics, from ninth-grade Geometry to Partial Differential Equations.
I'm exceptionally fluent at tutoring the following subjects: Algebra (all levels), Trigonometry, Geometry, Precalculus, Business Calculus, Calculus (all flavors, including AP AB/BC, and Calculus I, II & III), Intro to Statistics, Probability and Statistics, AP Statistics, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Numerical Analysis. I also tutor ACT and SAT mathematics.
I started tutoring other students when I was a mathematics major in college. When I took Calculus III, the school hired me as a math tutor for a few hours a week. I've either tutored or taught math in a classroom ever since. I've taught all the listed subjects at least once and tutored them all. I'm patient, good at explaining mathematics in plain language while at the same time building mathematics vocabulary, helping students see things in new ways, and building upon the innate number sense that we all have.
I know that being good at math takes practice, like a muscle you need to flex. I promote a positive mathematics mindset, help students build symbolic fluency, focus on conceptual understanding and the meaning of notation rather than manipulating it, and help students reduce test anxiety. I can even help with personalized interdisciplinary projects. I'm thorough, detail-oriented, don't rush students, and above all, patient.
