What My lessons are like
My lessons are personalised for the student. It involves a very hands-on approach, with lessons delivered using an IPad. I would ask the student what topics they would like to cover prior to the lesson, and start teaching them the basics and the background information. We would work yhrough some basic questions together, then ask the student to answer some more questions on their own. I like to get as much feedback as possible from the student, because that way I can ensure they are understanding the content, since my focus would be on one student.
My content draws from previous exam questions. My previous exam technique stems from the fact that exam questions are structured very similarly from previous years. So once basic concepts are nailed down, variety is the best policy to hone your skills and master exams. 20% of Maths is knowing the content 70% is knowing how to apply your knowledge and the rest is exam technique. The 80% of that is achieved though past paper practice.
My experience in maths comes from recently sitting A levels and understanding the A level technique and timings, the stress and nerves. My understanding when I comes to teaching maths is that people learn at very different paces but just because you pick it up faster does not mean you are any smarter or more likely to get the top grades than someone who does not pick it up instantly.
