Qualified primary school teacher with 9 years teaching experience, mostly in upper key stage 2. Having successfully tutored pupils in after-school settings whilst employed as a teacher, and I’m now moving into private tuition.
I also hold a masters degree in Education from Durham University, so I truly understand how children learn.
I’m happy to offer face-to-face sessions within the Northallerton/Thirsk/Bedale area or online nationally. I tutor both 1:1 or in small groups, so there’s something to suit most budgets!
For year 6 pupils, I’m happy to offer SATs prep in maths, reading or SPaG.
I also offer subject-specific tutoring across the primary age range, whether there’s a specific area your child needs a boost, over learning to help them retain key skills and information or just a confidence boost!
I also offer support to parents/carers choosing to homeschool - from working together to plan your curriculum, providing tutoring for core subjects whilst you focus on the wider curriculum or any other support you feel a qualified teacher could provide.
Tutoring starts with a free session to discuss your needs, your child’s needs and to find out if tutoring is right for you! If you decide to go ahead, we’ll also complete some informal assessments in this first session. Don’t worry - these will be completed in a fun, engaging manner to help me plan personalised sessions for your child or small group, depending on the tuition method you have chosen. You can expect regular updates on progress, and a boost in your child’s confidence in the subject they are being tutored in!
