I'm a native northern English speaker from Yorkshire. I studied Spanish up to A level so I can offer guidance and support for those qualifications.
I want to be able to provide my students with everything they need to obtain the best results they can from their studies.

• For GCSE students, it would be making sure they are understanding the main tenses, with an introduction to the subjuctive. Exam prep through all four reading, writing, listening and speaking exercises, but with a focus on listening and speaking as these are often the ones that are not as revisable without another person to speak to. This will also increase confidence when speaking and listening in your exams (and real life!)

• A level student level would be a focus on increasing knowledge of Spanish history and culture, as well as mastering all the tenses. It will also include more exam prep with an emphasis on essay writing and how we can structure this. I will also include more reading and writing exercises that show Spanish outside of exam contexts in terms of music, books, social media films. This will be able to fully emerge you into hearing native speakers and also prep you for any time spent abroad!

• Wanting to learn Spanish anyways? Please sign up for a lesson! These would be more based around what you want to learn rather than following exam criteria. A second language is an important skill, often being needed when you least expect it! I've used it in my previous jobs and in day to day life meeting people. Its great for your brain, your holiday and your CV!

I would love to be able to tailor lessons towards your own interests too so it isn't all exam topics, and also get to know you all as individuals! A language is how you express yourself and that's just as important as a grade.
