I have been teaching for over 30 years, in Europe and the UK. I taught DT for 10 years in a London school and for the past 20+ years have been teaching Art in a large comprehensive school and sixth form. I was head of Art until 2 years ago, when I semi retired and stepped down as leader of the department. Under my leadership the department has consistently achieved some of the best A level results in the country with around 85% of A level students achieving A/A* grades, ( most of our grades have been A*). I wrote the schemes of work for all courses from year 7 up to year 13 and all these courses are deeply rooted in the discipline of drawing. Courses I can offer range from basic drawing, sketchbook development through to work in a huge range of media; drawing media, paint, print, clay, batik etc. For the past year, at the school I work at, I have also offered Art Therapy courses.
I can offer specific tutoring for GCSE and A level, as well as more general art courses/lessons and can guarantee to improve your artistic skills. Your lessons will be explorative, well resourced and fun. We can investigate still life, landscape, figure, abstraction.
Over the years I have been told again and again that “ I can’t draw”, and my response has always been that if you can hold a pencil then you can draw. You just haven’t had the right art teacher.
