I am a Certified Elementary School Teacher with 12+ years of teaching experience. Currently, I reside and work in Virginia, where I teach first grade. Along with having my Teaching Certification, I also hold my Early Childhood Education Certification and I am CPR/First Aid certified. I attended and graduated college with a B. S. Degree in both Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Currently, I am working on my M.Ed. with a concentration in Literacy from Clemson University.

I feel that every child is unique in terms of life experiences, developmental readiness, and culture. I also believe that it is important to provide a safe and nurturing environment, which promotes social-emotional, language/communication, and cognitive development.

I believe that the beginning years of a child's life are the most important and I strive to help children learn fundamental skills through engaging and hands-on learning activities. My main area of experience is teaching grades K-3 and my focus is on teaching literacy (reading, reading comprehension, writing, phonemic/phonological awareness). I am energetic, cheerful, nurturing, and very patient.
