Growing up, I struggled a lot with maths but quickly found out that the most important part you must consolidate is the foundations. After loads of hard work, I managed to get a grade 8 in GCSE maths and I am now continuing my studies in a Sixth Form College. My lessons are specifically tailored for each child as there are different weak subjects for everyone so before a lesson, I ask the child what they would like to work on and then I ensure that they have mastered that certain topic before finishing. I can be really patient as from previous experiences I know what it is like to not understand a method instantly. So, to avoid confusion, I will thoroughly go through numerous examples and explanations before moving on to something else. This guarantees that the child has learnt the new skill and can answer particular questions without much help. I work in person however, if it is necessary I am capable to do lessons online aswell. These lessons are located based on where the child either: feels more confident or; where they feel as though they would pay more attention and learn easier. I can do as many sessions as desired however, most of these would have to be weekends and after-school hours. Finally, my main goal is to teach children that maths is great and really fun once you manage to understand it and that with maths, you can do loads in the future as it is a broad subject that covers countless skills.
