I am AQA English Literature Examiner and very experinced, passionate English teacher looking to help students achieve their potential!

As an experienced English teacher, I am used to teaching students of all abilities with a learner first approach. This means that I quickly assess the skills needed to be developed and then introduce target centred teaching to suit the learner's needs. So, if a student needs to 'fine tune' their skills to achieve top marks or if a student needs more targeted intervention, I am able to show progress efficiently.

Being approachable and a good communicator is essential in order to create a good rapport between tutor and learner and I adapt my teaching according to the student's needs. I have twenty years experience and have been in my current role since 2016. Furthermore, I have been Second in Department and have experience as a Literacy Co-ordinator, too.

Importantly, I am an AQA GCSE English Examiner and mark the English Literature paper. This means that I have regular, independent and up to date training on what is expected and the skills needed to succeed. It also means that I know what I am talking about and can, therefore, make an impact quicker.

What to expect: I structure my lessons to enable students to identify the progress they have made and to set achievable and challenging targets for their next session.
