I am a knowledgeable and passionate student teacher who takes great pride in teaching young children to flourish. I can be empathetic in order to best support in the worst of days and the best of days, and I am reflective so if something does not make sense I can change my approach for the next session and be flexible according to what the tutee requires. I am quite fast paced but can change speed any time to suit different needs. Lessons will usually start with a recap from the previous session to ensure the tutee is optimally learning, and of course there will always be an open communication channel through which the tutees can discuss what they wish to focus on in each session. I found inside the classroom that focusing on mastery was the best way for learning and therefore believe it is important to break sessions and learning into sizeable chunks to make it easier to 'digest', and we will not move on to the next step until the tutee has fully mastered that step. I will also use lots of modelling to show tutees each step of workings for their answers and how best to answer questions if they are unsure - it is always best to show your working in case the answer is incorrect, then you will at least get some marks.
