Kate Mackenney

After graduating university I worked as an English teacher at a further education college before going on to teach media studies and essay writing skills. After moving to Canada I became an administrative assistant working closely with the marketing department to write and produce persuasive and engaging documents. While in Canada I also volunteered as a t4eaching assistant at a junior school that had 90% non-English speaking students.

In 2020 I moved to Korea and worked as an English teacher at an International junior school in Jeju before moving to an English academy in Pohang. I was responsible for improving pronunciation and conversational skills among the students aged 6 to 16.

I have taught students from 6 to 60 in various types of English studies from teaching English as a second language to teaching creative writing and storytelling, essay writing, persuasive writing and more. I believe that any education or tutoring should be engaging and tailored to the student's needs, abilities and learning preferences.

I believe working together with the student (parent) to create a learning plan that fits their needs is the first step to developing a strategy that will allow the learner to reach their full potential and achieve their specific goals.
