I would describe my teaching style as highly adaptable. Through my work as a tutor, I have had the privilege to deliver a personalized experience of teaching to each student. I learned pretty early on that in order to deliver the highest quality of teaching, I must recognize that my student’s brains do not necessarily work exactly like mine. This, however, is what makes teaching fun. It has been a rewarding experience to challenge my own teaching and learning habits, and to be constantly uncovering new ways for my students to get the most out of the lesson. In this sense, my students teach me just as much as I teach them.

Furthermore, I would describe my teaching style as results driven. I try to define clear goals with each individual while taking into account their current level of skills. Together, we make a plan for the year, including some milestones, in order to keep track of progress and ensure that we are on the same page about what they expect from our co-operation.

I am currently studying for a BA Joint Honours degree in History and English in University College Dublin. I have maintained a first class honours. My degree has enabled me to establish the fundamentals of being a historian and a broad foundation of knowledge across various parts of history, including a number of areas that feature prominently on the leaving cert paper such as modern Irish history, European international relations and U.S. history.
