Kate Foster is a Leeds Conservatoire BA (Hons) Film Music graduate. Inspired by her classical education and passion for cinema, she enjoys composing library music and original soundtracks for films, television, and games. Kate specialises in writing orchestral scores and enjoys recording "found sounds" to create her own sample libraries. Kate's orchestral influences have developed from her experience as a classical oboist; through ten years of tuition, Kate has performed with the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra, Vermuyden Concert Band, and Beechfield Youth Orchestra. In 2017 Kate participated in the Music for Youth Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and in 2020 she completed her Grade 8 ABRSM practical exam. Having studied fine art, graphic design, and photography, Kate appreciates how the visual arts communicate and how music can be used to enhance the emotions and atmospheres portrayed on-screen.
