I have a wealth of music teaching experience across all age groups and abilities, with a focus on singing, guitar and songwriting. I am module lead for Songwriting on a BA Music course at a well-known UK university, and have taught on Performance modules, as well as doing 1:1 vocal tuition for undergraduate university students. I have a Masters Degree in Music and am currently finishing my PhD in Songwriting. I used a mixed methods approach, and I feel that active learning is the best way to get a grasp of music. Lessons with me include a wide range of activities that are suited to the student’s needs and goals. I find that students do the best when they are engaging with music that they love, so I will always find a way to relate the student’s learning to their favourite music. I have a good sense of humour and a nurturing, positive teaching style.
