Summary of current research and scholarship

At UAE University, Under the direction of the UAE Federal Government, the Ministry of Education has supported this project entitled “Dynamics of Mangrove carbon stock in Selected UAE coastline; a remote sensing approach”. The overall objective of the project is to evaluate the carbon stock in a selected mangrove study area, look into the carbon in mangrove litterfall, prepare a satellite-based litterfall model, access the change in mangrove vegetation from satellite images, and create a projection model for the mangrove habitat suitability. The project is in line with the extensive mangrove restoration efforts the UAE Federal Authorities have planned. I also produce report as part of my project work for the federal government's (EPDA) Environmental Development and Protection Agency.
