Hi welcome!!
I've tutored a wide range of students from ages 11-20, through SATs, GCSEs, A-Level, and undergrad mainly in the sciences and English language. In the first session, I like to gather the strengths and weaknesses of the student and discuss our aims and what we want to achieve through the tutoring: whether it's for exam practice, understanding of concepts, or just revision. I think setting and discussing a common goal will benefit both parties!
Some general things for the tutoring lessons:
Meet 1-2 times a week
• 1 hr long
• Normally if there are two sessions, #1 will be any homework set that week/general help, and #2 looking
and following the topics on the specification and practice questions.
• Times will be discussed!
• 5 min break/intro, 25min work, repeated twice
• Following the Pomodoro method
• Online via Microsoft Teams, it’ll be a repeating link sent via email.
• There’ll be a general introduction, questions, then an interactive session on a topic or subtopic on
the part of the specification we are up to (idea is to mirror what’s taught in school).
• There is no homework, this is to help NOT to stress out.
at the end of the day, this is to benefit you and shouldn't be a stress causer.
I hope this answers any general aspects, however, if you still have any questions do not hesitate to contact or message me with the provided information!
I look forward to hearing from you!
Karolina :)
