My lessons are very relaxed. I'm not here to cram material into you or try and force you to memorise anything. I always teach by understanding rather than memorising, so the way a lesson would usually go is like this:
Bring up a topic or a problem that you want to study. This can be anything as vague as "I don't understand what calculus is about" to specific things like "how do I solve this system of differential equations" or "What's the difference between type IA and type 2 supernova?".
I'll start off simple to check how much background understanding you have for the topic, and fill in any gaps in your knowledge. Then we'll break down the problem into smaller, easier steps and work through it together.
Once we have solved the problem, we'll go through our solution once again just to check our understanding and see if we have made any mistakes or assumptions along the way. That way we can ensure that you not only know how to solve a question, but also understand the solution and where it comes from. This makes it easier for you to face new and more challenging questions in the future.
Normally my sessions can be 30 minutes long if you have a specific problem to work through, or 1 hour / 90 minutes if you have a broader topic that you want to work through in detail. With me, you'll get enough understanding of any Maths and Physics problem to face whatever comes your way in exams or homework.
