I like to make sure that lessons are planned out with a main topic and focus, but at the same time that there is flexibility to go with the flow. I like to make sure lessons are engaging and interesting by using different teaching methods, as well as integrating technology and teaching aids to keep the student on task and interested in what he or she is learning.
It is also important for the teacher and student to be open and communicative if things are not going as planned and try everyday possible to work out a solution and tailor lessons to the needs of the student.
