I am currently a master's student of Forensic Nanotechnology in India. I have been teaching basic-level English to underprivileged students through an NGO. I also teach General Science and school syllabus English to class 5th and class 8th students as home tutors. I have a little over 2 years experience as a teacher. I am an extrovert by nature.
I am comfortable with flexible timings and can speak fluent English. I do not have a strict protocol to teach a certain topic, I understand the student's learning pattern and then go ahead with the explanation. For example- If students prefer pictures and videos, it means they are virtual learners and hence I will use ppts or videos to explain the concept to the best of my capability. I also have a habit of incorporating small breaks during the class if it's required. I try to create a friendly aura in class, by asking small icebreaker questions to make the student comfortable before class so that the learning can go smoothly and they are not hesitant to ask me questions. English is my second language but I have gained fluency in the years of teaching and hence I can lead by example by relating to students, who are trying their best to learn English as a foreign language. I can also substitute homework/assessment with practice together in class if that's something that works for the student or if they already have a ton of homework from school.
My goal for each class is that the students leave the class with at least one effective piece of knowledge and not a ton of homework.
