Jyothi Hanumantha

I am an innovative and energetic student from London, who is passionate about education and bridging borders through language and culture. I enjoy working with young people through curating a positive and creative, target-based learning environment. I adopt a friendly and patient approach to teaching, and am flexible to tailor sessions to the specific needs of each student.

I am organized, punctual and efficient with my work. As a native English speaker of 19 years, and a student who speaks multiple languages, I would be a good fit for this role as I enjoy learning languages as well as teaching them. I recognise that language learning involves learning about a new culture, and goes beyond rote learning basic grammar structures.

I am able to help students with English essay writing, grammar, spoken English, creative writing and reading. I can also conduct lessons for English Literature and Language analysis. I can prepare worksheets and lesson plans for students, based on their learning targets.

As a former student of French and Gujarati, I recognise the pressures of meeting academic goals in language learning. Hence, I aim for focused, target-based learning that meets the goals of the student. I incorporate creative, and imaginative approaches, such as podcasts, and movies, to language learning, to make the work fun and memorable.

My ultimate goal is to help students feel confident in their command of a language.
