My view of maths is that you really improve when you are practicing the skills you need often and consistently. As such, my approach to tutoring is to use practice papers to identify where your strengths lie in the syllabus. From there I know where to concentrate our sessions so that our time is used as efficiently as possible. I also keep track of what we have covered so that we are constantly revisiting topics to cement learning and ensure that certain skills are not neglected. The maths exams are easy to pass for anyone as long as they work on all parts of the syllabus and they do not get caught out by questions they have not familiarised themselves with.
While that all sounds very heavy our sessions won't be overly intense. It's important to not get burnout and it's especially important that you don’t start hating maths. We'll make sure that we go through problems at a comfortable pace and I'll make sure to explain anything that is confusing. Maths can be really rewarding (and even enjoyable) when your improving, my hope is that I can bring that into our sessions.
In terms of experience I have not been tutoring for very long, only having one student to date. However from that experience and having completed these exams not so long ago myself, I understand the role of tutoring in supporting students through school. I'm sure that if you start some lessons with me we can get your maths grades and skills on the up in no time!
