I'm Julie and I live in Mauritius! I have been a French trainer since December 2023 and I offer lessons to foreign adults who join French companies to familiarize themselves with the language.

Generally, the lessons are based on the needs of each learner and therefore, there is personalization of the courses.

For the first meeting with a learner, I focus mainly on his/her needs to communicate in French. Thus, I will evaluate different elements: whether it is a question of expressing oneself better orally or in writing in everyday life or for professional purpose.

Then, with the learner, we will prepare the themes of the first lessons. However, it often happens that during the course, other subjects are added to the program.

It is also important to know that each lesson lasts an hour including written or oral exercises. For the last 15 minutes, I also ask the learners to prepare 5 key phrases according to what they have learned during the lesson.

I then send an audio of these key phrases so that they can practice them orally.

I also sometimes send homework to do for the next session. Of course, we systematically correct them together.

Also, I like to think that learning a language requires perseverance and consistency. Generally, to notice real improvements in a language such as French, it takes a minimum of 20 hours spread over about 3 months.
