Having a qualification as a personal assistant in France, I started to show interest in teaching French after a few years spent in the UK where I have been living now for the past 17 years.
After getting a PTTLs certificate in 2010, I have acquired experience in teaching French to both children and adults.
I started having experience with children by teaching French for after school clubs in different schools in the area (Fetcham, Raleigh, Dorking, Guildford).
I would use various resources such as games, songs, group activities and would create a fun environment to rise their interest in learning another language.
In parallel, I also had a few work experiences as teacher assistant, through the Surrey Supply Teacher, which is an education recruitment company. I would work 1 to 1 with children with special educational needs, as well as working with a group.
I am currently teaching classes at the Adult Learning Centre for the Surrey County Council as well as private tutoring for people of all ages and abilities.
Working in schools and adults centres taught me cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Having 2 children myself also helped me to know how to adapt, being open and flexible.
I am patient and actively listen to people. I like helping others to learn, using the strengths of each individual. I will challenge my learners but will try to bring out the best of their potential to make sure that together, we work towards achieving their goals, their needs, and their requirements.
