Hello!
I am French born and bred, did my undergraduate studies in Paris, and moved to the US for my postgraduate (MA, PhD, both in French)
My teaching style is flexible, I'll adapt to your needs and your level of proficiency, your interests and the purpose of your wanting to learn French, to take you to the next level of competences. I have 19 years of experience teaching French: the basics of language acquisition, as well as conversation, writing, literature, cinema, history, philosophy, current affairs, translation and sustainable development. I will tailor our time together so you stay interested and I use films and songs, newspaper articles and podcasts, comic books and cooking recipes to get you to learn real-life French right away.
Even though my experience is mainly with college-age students (young adults), I have also taught in professional places such as law offices and corporate settings. I have given one-on-one classes to adults, and young kids alike, for a variety of purposes - to improve their marks in class, to go to France and order in restaurants as well as make their way through the city, etc.
My students have often remarked on my engaging teaching style, my knowledge of French culture and mindset, and my interest in them as people, which makes it easier for them to relax and share, take linguistics risks in a safe environment. I give a lot of feedback and a lot of encouragement.
I am an expert at my job, and your French will improve, it's inevitable.
