I am a first year student at the University of Portsmouth and have a great deal of passion and love for Biology. I have both GCSE and A Level qualifications in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. As a young student, I am aware of how stressful exam time can be for young people and I am dedicated to giving the students the ability to succeed both academically and mentally with their studies. My tutoring will involve exam practice (AQA) and coverage of topics the student is struggling with. I will adapt the lessons to reflect the students’ experience and what they need more help with. I will also focus on revision technique with regards to Biology and I will help the student to find out what works best for them.

GCSE and A Level exams within Biology can be particularly tricky, not so much in terms of content but in exam structure and what the examiners want from the student. I believe any student can succeed in Biology, particularly with the right support in place. I understand that students struggling with mental health issues may also benefit from tutoring. I know this because I was in their place not so long ago and would have benefited from support from someone similar in age to myself. My role as a tutor will not only aid the student academically but also mentally - I am a friendly face to talk to when it doesn’t seem like anybody else understands the position you’re in.
