I am currently a 2nd-year Medical Student at the University of Leeds, with over 100 hours of teaching experience. I recently completed my Level 3 TEFL qualification after spending the summer teaching English at a secondary school in Thailand. I am enthusiastic about tutoring in any of the subjects I studied at GCSE or A-level, in which I achieved eleven grade 9s, two grade 8s, and A*A*AA at A-level.
Additionally, I would be excited to mentor students preparing for medical school, offering guidance on interviews, BMAT, and UCAT preparation. I am deeply passionate about both my studies in Medicine and teaching.
My online lessons involve the following stages:
1) A warm-up by which my student can recall previously learnt content from prior lessons which is usually relevant to the upcoming lesson
2) Corrections to the warm-up and diligent feedback on how they can improve and avoid repeating the same errors.
3) A presentation section where I explain the new content in either the syllabus (or what the student has specifically requested to cover in this lesson)
4) I then model how to answer example questions for this topic.
5) We then walk-through how to answer these new questions together.
6) I allow the student to answer further questions independently and give feedback once they have completed the questions.
7) They can then take this feedback on board to complete homework tasks if they desire some.
This is the structure of teaching that I have used since my training days and has been effective in helping all my students achieve their goals.
