Jude in a nutshell
I want my approach to learning to be centred on you! If you're at a more intermediary level, we can tailor lessons to have engaging French-language conversations about your interests. Or, if you're earlier on in your journey, I have learnt French all the way from GCSE's to university, so can help design a pedagogic plan to get you where you need to be.

Having learnt French all my life and having lived in France on my language-learning journey, I know what works and what doesn't when you're trying to pick up a new language. My approach focuses on:

- Picking up and learning a range of vocabulary, applicable to general and specific situations.
- Engaging with French culture (film, literature, TV!) to build language in an authentic and engaging way.
- Finding the confidence to speak in a natural-sounding way, without getting too worried about complex grammar or getting everything exactly right.

My lessons will typically begin with a vocabulary test (which means you will need to do a bit of work outside our lessons, too), before using that new vocab in an applied way so that you're retaining it and seeing it in real-life situations, too! This could involve a short oral conversation, listening to a song/movie scene, or translating a short extract into or from French.

If there's certain activities you enjoy more or less, lessons will be completely customisable and tailored to the approach that works best for you. Learning will be a dialogue between us: I give you the framework of how to learn a language, but you choose what you find most useful and what engages you most.
