In order to give you the best attention, I will always begin by asking you what areas of chemistry or of biology that you are struggling with. We focus first on the tough topics, build trust and then expand to other areas. I believe in showing my tutees the interconnectedness of everything, because you miss that a lot in the classroom. This then helps you with the WHY of the learning process and you get the "OH I GET IT!" feeling.
I am a stickler for detail and relevance and during exam revision, introduce you to the mindset of the examiner so that you get a much better feel for the past and future papers.
If storytelling is what you need to get your head around the mole concept, then I will tell you about Avogadro; if you hate biological molecules, we can discover their molecular secrets together; and of course, if it's pictures you need as a visual learner, I have a gallery full of images we can look at and discuss. But it has to work for you, I do not make any assumptions about your aptitude and listen carefully for what you need. I have a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Maters-Level PGCE from The University of Oxford. I have taught in the UK and in Kenya and now on my way back to England.
