I fell in love with the accounting as a subject when i was a teenager because of my love for numbers. Numbers are very powerful. For example, to make a dress for a client, a tailor makes use of a tape rule to take down a few measurements in numbers and diligently works to produce a very beautiful dress, initially conceptualised in the mind of the owner. When this is properly done, any unused piece of fabric can easily be recycled and put together to create something new altogether or discarded if significantly immaterial in quantity. In other words, every piece of fabric can be accounted for as it can either be seen in the new dress made or the unused recyclable material.
Just like the world of accounting which has many processes and propagates the concept of value adding, many processes were involved in making the dress. Each process, carried out diligently, ensured that a dress was created and value was added on the long run.
Also, just like many accounting reports, the perfect dress reflects and summarises the idea the owner of the dress had, accounts for the reduction in the owners wealth or finances and gives a reports on the analytical skills of the tailor.
Practical real life examples and trends, pictorials and visuals as well as case studies are my handy user- friendly tutoring tools as these have been known to create an exciting learning atmosphere and teaching experience. For example, using analogies like that of numbers and bespoke clothes is an example of how each session will commence.
