Generally, my lessons will be focussed on delivering the information to my student in whatever way is most effective for them. I have particular, reliable teaching materials that I draw from, but these are used more as guides than infallible rules, however I have found them to be very helpful. Also, because I offer lessons in different areas, naturally the lessons will tend to look a little different to one another - a guitar lesson isn't going to look the same as a music theory lesson, for example. I have almost a year's experience in teaching guitar, and I have taught piano as well. I spent 4 years studying Music at the University of Leeds to get my Bachelor of Arts degree, which helped me in my understanding of music theory, having come from a popular music background. Prior to this, I had been playing guitar for about 10 years, and this was (and is) my main instrument. I believe that the lessons I received on guitar, which were fun, relaxed, and friendly, contributed greatly to my desire to continue playing and studying music, and so I try to teach in a similar way, with the hope that it will have a similar effect upon my students.
