I am a primary teacher with experience across all levels, from P1-P7. I love getting to know all my pupils and investing the time to help them achieve success. I try to find new ways to teach content that can be tricky and make it fun!

I use a variety of teaching styles to suit my students! I make sure everything is highly interactive and I make use of technology to present my lessons and incorporated within lessons to enhance the learning experience. This could include online games, concrete materials, quizzes (such as Kahoot) and Plickers.

Before I was a teacher I was a scientist, I have a passion for science and the environment and love to discuss the why and what ifs of life! Having an enquiring mind is essential for success in learning.

I build strong and positive relationships with all my learners and get to know them all on an individual basis. I find this allows me to gain a full understanding of each pupil and how to beat meet their needs.

Most of my experience is at second level (P5-P7) where I have had pupils working at both P1 or P2 level and S1 or S2 so I have experience of a range of abilities. I am proficient in teaching literacy and maths and numeracy, as well as all other areas of the curriculum. I find that having a solid foundation in literacy opens up the rest of the curriculum so improving skills here first is a good way to start improving learner outcomes.
