My name is JOSIAH. I love teaching and have a great passion for teaching reading, phonics, pronunciation and English as a foreign language. Teaching comes naturally to me because of the immense desire to impact knowledge, great interest I have in people of all ages, backgrounds and social status and the experience I have acquired over the years.

I'm a qualified English as Foreign Language tutor with over 10 years of experience in teaching reading/phonics and English Pronunciation. Most recently, I started teaching English Grammar. My classes are fun, engaging, and informative. Learning a language involves making lots of mistakes. So I endeavor to listen to my students patiently and empathetically. This enables them to build self-confidence, fluency, trust in me as an instructor and more so regularity in attending sessions since they are confident they will converse with their tutor with little interruption. Usually towards the end of my session with students, I like to offer constructive counsel as a feedback to improve future conversation.

My teaching methodology might vary depending on whether my student is a visual, auditory or verbal learner. This is because just one method does not work best for a student. For this reason, I combine different teaching methods to reach the heart of my students. During each session, I use captivating artworks, tailored audio and video materials to enhance the learning experience. My students leave each session feeling extreme satisfaction for having learnt something new.

In as much as I love to teach adult, I especially like to teach reading to children. I can say it's an innate skill. I remember being taught by my mother as a child to read using the sound-based method. From that experience, I learned that it's imperative for children to read early, if possible before they turn 4.
