From improvisational (play by ear) to score-reading learning method, I have been teaching piano for more than 10 years. I can use sibelius software to type new scores for students, as well as get suitable published scores for them. I can also teach music theory behind those piano scores. This can enhance their motivation and interest to learn. After graduation, I have worked as a piano teacher privately and in music centres.
I am enthusiastic in working with children. After I graduated, I worked as a piano teacher privately and in music centres for more than 10 years. Most students were children. I taught piano and music theory lessons individually and in groups during my teaching. Piano lessons emphasise not only note and rhythm precision, but also gesture, which will affect the technique of piano playing. From Grades 1 to 8, I helped my students enter suitable exams for them, mostly by ABRSM. For enhancing their progress, I often communicate with students and their parents since children needs parents’ encouragement to keep on having interest and ability in learning piano and ensuring they are aware of student progress and concerns. For the interest of my students and parents, I am always reliable and punctual to make most use of lesson times. To make use of teaching time, I arranged breaks between lessons flexibly.
During my piano teaching and accompaniment, I encourage the students frequently. When I am teaching, I emphasise the correct gesture of piano playing. If I encounter SEN students, I will go further steps by variety of methods, including more stickers and/or even improvising nursery tunes to stimulate their motivation of learning.
