Lessons follow a similar format from session to session to ensure students remain engaged and focused.

- I will answer any questions students may have had since the last lesson as well as any specific questions students may have had during their normal lessons in school.

- Then the topic of the lesson will be outlined and briefly explained as to how it interlinks with any other topic or subject the student is taking.

- The main body of the lesson involves carefully explaining the topic, ensuring each key part is properly understood by required the student to answer some simple questions.

- Following the teaching a number of application questions which will start as guided questions then transition into supervised independent questions as the student gains confidence.

- Finally and follow up questions and requests for the next session will be addressed. A short reflection on their progress is completed if the student is happy and able to effectively do so.

I have followed such a method for many years as I have tutored students of all abilities at both GCSE and A-level with great success. Students remain engaged and motivated both at the start and end of the lesson, opening the door to the start of an independent and self-driven journey of knowledge.

A deep understanding of exam technique is necessary for an effective tutor so proper answering technique is woven into every topic, question and subject. My own expertise in reading, understanding and retaining exam board specifications makes me will equipped to properly perform this job.
