Hi! I'm Josh and I teach Computing Science primarily in a high school, to high school students, but with some additional experience teaching adults National 5 and Higher Computing.
My teaching style is engaging and lively, usually to try and win the support of teenagers (easier said than done!) but also to provide a more fun and engaging way to learn computing. Computing can sometimes be a little on the dry side when it comes to learning to code, but I teach to help students think outside the box and problem solve their own issues, to foster positive thinking in the future.
My subject knowledge is vast, I have developed and taught lessons covering all National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher topics, from basic HTML, CSS and JS to Python and Visual Basic. I strive to find a different ways of teaching programming, I find that tailoring programming tutoring techniques to the students own strengths rewards the most attainment as well as engagement overall, anything from wrote learning to scaffolding, top-down learning or "duck debugging", a personal favourite.
There are a variety of topics and ideas I could help you or your young person with, please reach out and connect as I'm excited to teach as much as you're as excited to learn! See you soon :)
