I have fresh experience as I have only recently left high school, so I have great knowlege of the exam board, and I understand what it takes to get the top grade. I am currently taking a level maths and I am expected an A star in that, so I can even provide foundations for potential future A Level students. Even if I am not the tutor for you, my advice is always to put in the extra effort because maths doesn't come to anyone naturally. To do this, I reccommend a teaching method known as retrieval, where after recently having learned a new topic, you do some questions on it to rejog your memory on it. For students who are year 10 and above, I reccommend exam questions in preparation to the mock and the final GCSE assessments. The markscheme is very useful to check for and correct any errors made along the way. However, all this boils back down to effort put in. Without enough effort, each test will just become increasingly challenging. I am open to teaching students at any GCSE skill level at maths to go over weak points in their skillset, and assist them in improving on them. This is because I firmly believe all students have the same potential, no matter what set or class they have been assigned to. The only variable is how they learn, and of course, how much effort they are willing to put in. With a positive mindset, I believe I can assist students in regaining motivation for maths .
