In my sessions, a student can expect to learn the tools to figure out their subject matter on their own. I do not hold a students hand and do their work for them, instead we focus on getting them to a point where a tutor is no longer necessary, that should be the ultimate goal in my opinion. My method is based on positive reinforcement and repetition, we are going to get our noses in those books and we will succeed. I try to make my sessions as fun as possible because I truly believe that if someone doesn't enjoy what they're doing they're not going to pay very much attention to it, and if you're not paying very much attention when you're meant to be learning something, you're certainly not going to learn anything. I employ a firm but lenient hand, in other words, I don't stand for wasting time, but I'm also not a stickler that needs every little thing to go perfectly. I never show frustration or negativity towards my students, positive reinforcement is the only way forward in my opinion, verbal praise and rewards always work better than belittling. Learning in itself is a skill and unfortunately our education institutions don't seem to take that fact very seriously as we are mostly taught to memorize facts which leads to a severe inability to address new problems in life. Learning about maths and physics is not just about maths and physics, it's also about learning how to address problems in life as well.
