Each students lesson structure will be custom built to suit the needs of the student and designed around a way of learning that works best for them.

The standard approach which I find to be the best fit for most students is:
- description of the principle content.
- a worked example to explain.
- practice questions and answers.
- review the answers and assess the steps we need to take.

In addition to this standard structure I like to use my background in Accounting and Business to help illustrate real world examples for where this information can be put to use, using practical examples helps to reinforce the theory which is not always relatable in the classroom.

In terms of time spent on each topic this will vary depending on the complexity and understanding already in place. Targeted learning will be implemented as required depending on mark allocation, sometimes it’s not worth getting bogged down on a topic you don’t understand for 2 marks, keeping a strong positive mental attitude is essential for effective learning and more positive the experience feels will show in results.

One thing I pride myself on is my ability to build rapport and engage with students of all ages in a way that works best for them, these sessions should never feel forced, tiresome or condescending, I’m here to help in a place of complete transparency and honesty.
