Hi There! I am Josephine (Josie) and I am Currently Studying Dental Hygiene and Therapy at the University of Portsmouth.
I have a particular passion for Biology, especially anatomy. Although I found it hard when I was younger, I have found many tips and tricks to help cram information into my brain, and to answer those pesky exam questions! I provide tutoring sessions for Biology, GCSE and younger.
English is also one of my passions, from creative writing to analysing books and poetry. Whether its grammar you struggle with or finding the correct tone to write in, I am able to help with all aspects of improving your English skills.
I offer both 1-1 and group sessions (up to a maximum of 4 people) depending on what the student would like. Please note my group sessions have an extra £5/h per person charge on them.
As diagnosed ADHD and Autistic, I have also come up with may ways to maximise learning for the neurodivergent/less interested student. I know it can be hard to have the motivation to learn, so I have come up with many ways to make this more interesting, including but not limited to power point lecture style presentations (with a twist!), discussion activities, interactive quizzes, mock papers, flash cards, and tailored style learning.
My tailored style learning means that I always organise a 1-1 session to start off with (free of charge) to get used to each other, discuss the issues that the student is having and see what we can do to tackle these. From there, we can book sessions and I will have prepared teaching utensils for that particular session. I always like to leave time at the end of appointments for particular questions and to plan the next session.
